Scott Dawson Presents at Advocacy Conference on Importance of the Opening Address in Civil Trials

Farris Partner Scott Dawson presented at the 2010 Advocacy Conference staged by the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia.

The Advocacy Conference is a comprehensive, two-day program that explores all major facets of advocacy in the litigation process. The conference is held once in a decade and for that reason is referred to as “the big one”. The faculty was replete with jurists and senior counsel from British Columbia and across Canada and the conference agenda was targeted for civil and criminal litigation counsel with an intermediate to advanced level of experience.

Scott was a member of the panel struck to address the opening address at a trial. In addition to Scott, the panel consisted of Justices Fenlon and Humphries of the Supreme Court of British Columbia and Matt Nathanson. Scott gave the demonstration opening address for a civil case and participated in the ensuing panel discussion.
