Partner Joseph J. Arvay, Q.C. to Receive Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Osgoode Hall Law School

Farris partner Joseph J. Arvay, Q.C., one of Canada’s most highly regarded civil rights and human rights lawyers, will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from York University and Osgoode Hall Law School on June 24. Mr. Arvay holds law degrees from the University of Western Ontario Law School and Harvard Law School. In 2012, he was the York University Osgoode Hall McMurtry visiting clinical fellow.  He carries on a varied litigation practice and has litigated cases on fundamental freedoms, access to justice, Indigenous rights, equality, principles of fundamental justice, and on the limits of police and state authority that have reshaped the legal and policy landscape.
