James Hatton Appointed Queen’s Counsel

Farris Partner, James Hatton, has been appointed as Queen’s counsel. The Queen’s counsel designation is an honour conferred on members of the legal profession to recognize exceptional merit and contribution.

James has practised at Farris since articling here in 1985. His appointment is in recognition of his role as a leading patent and technology licensing lawyer. James is also a frequent lecturer on intellectual property issues. He is a former member of the governing council of the National Research Council of Canada.
