Herbst, Morse, Louman-Gardiner and Yamashita Present to BC Lawyers on New Limitation Act

Farris had a strong presence at a full-day Continuing Legal Education Society of BC conference on the new Limitation Act, which comes into force on June 1, 2013 and will significantly change the time frames in which many claims may be pursued in BC.  The conference, held on May 6, 2013, included presentations from a cross-section of prominent BC practitioners, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Law Society of BC, and the author of the Law of Limitations.

Farris litigation partner Ludmila Herbst co-chaired the conference and presented on various limitations-related topics. Farris litigation partner Rebecca Morse and Farris associate Tim Louman-Gardiner led in-person and online breakout groups on limitation issues related to banking and finance.  Farris associate Jason Yamashita led an online breakout group on limitation issues related to general civil litigation matters.  Group leaders also presented key points from their sessions to the conference as a whole.
