Hector MacKay-Dunn, Q.C., Peter Roth, Kwang Lim and Mark Chu Underwrite Global Offering

The Farris team acted as Canadian counsel to the underwriters in a global offering of shares for GLG Life Tech Corporation, a Canadian-headquartered company with substantial operations in China. The transaction was negotiated internationally, involving counsel in Canada, China and the United States. Senior Partner Hector MacKay-Dunn, Q.C. led the Farris team, which included Peter Roth and Kwang Lim, together with Partner Mark Chu.

GLG Life Tech Corporation (“GLG”), a leader in the agricultural and industrial development of high quality stevia extracts, completed the global public offering of common shares under the US-Canadian Multijurisdictional Disclosure System (MJDS). The offering consisted of a total of 4,168,750 common shares at a public offering price of US$7.60 per share.  As part of the transaction, GLG completed its intial listing on The NASDAQ Global Market (the “NASDAQ”) and is now listed on the NASDAQ as well as The Toronto Stock Exchange. The transaction closed on November 25, 2009 and the exercise of the over-allotment option closed on December 1, 2009.

The offering was conducted on an underwritten basis and Canaccord Adams acted the sole book-running manager for the offering. GMP Securities acted as co-lead manager with co-managers Roth Capital Partners in the United States and Desjardins Securities and Wellington West in Canada.
