Hector MacKay-Dunn, Q.C. Hosts Ambassador Gary Doer at “Team BC” dinner at BIO 2011

VANCOUVER - On June 6th, Hector MacKay-Dunn, QC hosted Gary Doer, Ambassador of Canada to the United States of America and the Honourable Dr. Moira Stilwell, Parliamentary Secretary for Industry, Research and Innovation to the Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation and the BC Life Sciences community at the annual “Team BC” dinner.

The dinner, co-hosted by Rx&D and held at the Carnegie Institute for Science in Washington, DC, provided an opportunity to bring all the members of the BC delegation together with key international representatives to kick-off the convention and network.

The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) Convention 2011 hosted a record number of partnering meetings, drew over 15,500 leaders from 65 countries and highlighted a broad array of top-level speakers, including former Prime Minister of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Tony Blair; U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY); former U.S. Senator Tom Daschle (D-SD); Governor Howard Dean; and Republican political strategist Karl Rove.

The BIO International Convention is the largest global event for the biotechnology industry, offering networking and partnering opportunities with policymakers, scientists, CEOs, and newsmakers, and hundreds of sessions covering biotech trends, policy issues, and technological innovations.
