Hector MacKay-Dunn, Q.C. - Host of BC LifeSciences Dinner at Bio2010

VANCOUVER - On May 3rd, Hector MacKay-Dunn, Q.C. hosted the Honourable Dr. Moira Stilwell, Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development; the Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry for the Government of Canada; and, the British Columbia Life Sciences community at the annual “Team BC” dinner.

The dinner, co-hosted by Merck and held at the historic Chicago Cultural Centre, provided an opportunity to bring all the members of the BC delegation together with key international representatives to kick-off the convention and network.

The Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) Convention 2010 hosted a record number of partnering meetings, drew over 15,000 leaders from 65 countries and highlighted a broad array of top-level speakers including former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush; former Vice President Al Gore; Margaret Hamburg, MD, FDA Commissioner; Roger Beachy, Chief Scientist for the US Department of Agriculture and Director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture; and David Kappos, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United State Patent and Trademark Office.
