George Macintosh, Q.C. Interviewed in The Lawyers Weekly about BCSC Rainbow Park Property Decision

VANCOUVER - Farris Senior Partner George Macintosh, Q.C. appears in The Lawyers Weekly following a British Columbia Supreme Court judgment about a Whistler lakefront property known as Rainbow Park.

The article, titled “Whistler expropriation grossly undervalued,” was published on March 26, 2010 in Vol. 29, No. 43 of The Lawyers Weekly.

In the article, Macintosh says, “[t]he next stage now is the determination of the interest owing [on the increased amount], keeping in mind that Whistler has had both the use of the land and the money since 1987.”

The case has “gone on so long because Joan Saxton, the matriarch of the family that owned the property, litigated for at least 15 years in an unsuccessful effort to get the land back,” says Macintosh.

The reasons given in Rainbow Country Estates Ltd. V. Whistler (Resort Municipality) 2010 BCSC 300 are available here.
