Ron Murray and Brad Newby Become Farris Partners

Farris is pleased to announce that Ron Murray and Brad Newby were admitted to Partnership on February 1, 2005. Since Ron Murray’s call to the Bar in 1994, Ron has practised in the area of securities law, primarily representing public and private emerging growth technology and life-sciences companies, investment dealers and limited partnerships. He joined the firm in 2000, after spending two years with the Vancouver office of the predecessor to the TSX Venture Exchange, assisting with the merger of the former Alberta and Vancouver stock exchanges and providing securities law advice to corporate finance staff and executives. Brad Newby was called to the Bar in 1995, and joined Farris in 2000. Brad practices primarily in the areas of Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Finance and Real Estate. Brad has advised business leaders in the biotechnology, financial services, professional services and high-tech industries. Brad has experience in a wide variety of commercial transactions and agreements including asset and share acquisitions, licencing, distribution and franchising agreements, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures and strategic alliances. Recently, Brad has worked on several income trust public financings as well as other public and private financings.
