Sale of Blue Castle Games to Capcom

Farris represented a major shareholder of Blue Castle Games, one of Canada’s leading console game studios, in the sale of the company to Capcom. Capcom is a leading Japan-based worldwide developer and publisher of video games. Blue Castle Games, which was formed in 2005, is a 160-person studio located in Vancouver. Blue Castle is responsible for the creation and development of the Dead Rising franchise, a series of zombie-killing action games, and also for the sports title, The Bigs, a baseball arcade game. Blue Castle will now be known at Capcom Game Studios Vancouver. Financial terms of the transaction are not being publicly disclosed. Farris Lawyers Al Hudec and Denise Nawata worked on the transaction.

Farris partner David Selley along with Mohammad Manki and James Campbell assisted their client ComWest Enterprise Corp. in financing and closing a $22 million acquisition of Winnipeg-based Peerless Garments LP, Canada’s leading manufacturer of protective harsh weather outerwear for military personnel. Founded in 1940, Peerless is the leading supplier of severe weather garments to the Canadian Forces.
