Tristan obtained his Juris Doctor in 2018 from the University of Ottawa where he graduated cum laude. He graduated with a B.A. from the University of British Columbia in Political Science in 2014.

While at law school Tristan participated in the Wilson Moot on constitutional law. He also presented several papers to graduate conferences regarding the regulation of infectious disease in Canada and the over criminalization of infectious persons. Tristan also volunteered and was president of the OUTLaws, the LGBTQ+ club at the Faculty of Law.

Before attending the University of Ottawa, Tristan received the First Prize for a paper delivered to the Osgoode Forum, a graduate law conference at Osgoode Hall, for his work titled: “A ‘Realistic Possibility’ of Justice: R v Mabior, Sero-Negative Privilege, and the Criminalization of HIV in Canada.”

In pre-law life Tristan has worked for a Member of Parliament and a legal non-profit, as well as being an active volunteer for HIV/AIDS non-profits.

Tristan’s mentors are Sean Hern and Amanda Winters.
