Jenifer is Counsel with Farris’ Victoria, practicing primarily in the areas of technology law, Internet law, intellectual property, commercial law and privacy.

For over 25 years, Jenifer has worked in both private practice and as in-house counsel – including extensive international experience gained as both a senior executive and in-house counsel for some of the world’s foremost high technology companies, including Alcatel, Bell Canada International, Newbridge Networks and Mitel. By virtue of her years of senior management experience in both Canada and Asia, Jenifer possesses an insider’s understanding of the challenges facing businesses in both the domestic and international markets, and is able to provide her clients with practical and insightful legal advice on a broad range of business and commercial matters.

Jenifer advises both large and small companies, public sector entities, as well as educational institutions, and has particular experience in the negotiation and drafting of agreements relating to the commercialization of technology and related services. These include software and technology licenses, complex agreements for the acquisition of technology and related infrastructure, distribution and value-added reseller agreements, technology development agreements, and all manner of agreements relating to strategic alliances, technology transfer, confidentiality and non-disclosure, the support and maintenance of products and software, and escrow.

Jenifer also advises both public and private entities in the area of privacy, particularly as it relates to compliance, technology and the Internet.

Jenifer is a trained sommelier and, prior to moving to British Columbia in 2008, was a part-time instructor in the Sommelier certification program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario.
