Trevor provides strategic and legal advice in diverse business areas.  He has extensive experience in debt and equity financings for public and private companies, representing both issuers and investment banks.  He also regularly advises on business acquisitions, divestments, restructurings and take-over bids (friendly and hostile), including compliance issues with the Competition Act and assisting foreign investors with Investment Canada Act matters.  Trevor also advises on corporate governance matters and proxy contests.

Trevor is a member of the Securities Law Advisory Committee, which is a committee of leading lawyers that provides advice to the British Columbia Securities Commission on legal and policy issues relating to securities regulation.  He is also a member of the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Business Law Section.  Trevor is a past Chair of the Securities Law Subsection of the Canadian Bar Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association (British Columbia Branch). He is also involved in various professional organizations including membership in the Canadian, American and International Bar Associations.

Trevor regularly lectures and writes articles on mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, business finance and other corporate matters.  He is a member of Farris’ Strategic Committee.

The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory names Trevor as among the leading corporate commercial lawyers in British Columbia. The 2009 Lexpert Guide to the Leading US/Canada Cross-Border Corporate Lawyers named him as a corporate lawyer to watch.  In December 2008, Trevor was named by Lexpert as one of Canada’s Leading Lawyers Under 40.

  • $51 million secondary offering for Westport Innovations Inc. (as selling shareholder’s counsel)
