Susan’s practice is primarily focused on the various facets of construction and infrastructure work including project finance.  She has experience advising both the public and private sectors and has specific expertise in the area of public-private partnership projects. Her practice in this area is enhanced by her invaluable on-the-ground knowledge of the complexities of large scale infrastructure projects having worked as in-house counsel to a Crown Corporation during the construction phase of British Columbia’s largest transportation infrastructure project to date. She also holds a certificate in Construction Law from Osgoode Hall.

Susan seeks to provide practical and strategic solutions for her clients. Having started her career as a litigator, she brings a unique and extremely useful perspective to her work for clients at the front end of transactions.  She also continues to provide dispute resolution and advisory services to her clients through project implementation and operation. In this regard, she has provided advice in the negotiation and implementation of multi-million dollar commercial settlements. In addition to her work in construction and infrastructure, she provides a broad range of corporate commercial and dispute resolution services and has experience acting for parties in relation to gas and other resource based industries as well as in various regulatory contexts.

Susan joined the firm as a an articled student in 2005 after completing an internship with the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in the Hague.  She is actively involved in her community and currently sits as the Chair of the District of North Vancouver’s Parks and Natural Environment Advisory Committee.
