Mr. Dawson is a partner in the litigation department and a trial lawyer with significant experience in a broad range of commercial disputes.
He regularly appears before British Columbia Courts and tribunals as part of his business-focused civil litigation practice. His cases have covered a wide variety of issues in corporate and commercial litigation including directors’ fiduciary duties, class actions, international and domestic agency disputes, shareholder disputes and corporate reorganizations.
Mr. Dawson also has considerable experience resolving disputes involving real estate transactions, professional negligence claims, workplace disputes and a broad array of media matters, including crisis management.
Mr. Dawson is recognized as one of Canada’s leading practitioners in the areas of corporate commercial litigation, alternative dispute resolution and defamation and media law by the peer-review publication The Best Lawyers in Canada. The peer-review publication Benchmark Canada identifies Mr. Dawson as a “very strong lawyer” and future star of the British Columbia litigation bar and he holds a BV Distinguished peer rating with the international publication Martindale-Hubbell.
