Ludmila is a litigator who practises primarily in the areas of complex corporate and commercial litigation, media law, arbitration and litigation related to land and other resources (including property assessment, planning and utilities). Ludmila has appeared before all levels of court in British Columbia and before the Supreme Court of Canada. She has also represented clients in various arbitration proceedings as well as proceedings before administrative tribunals. Ludmila joined Farris in 1998 after graduating as the Law Society Gold Medallist from the University of British Columbia. Ludmila co-authored and updates Commercial Arbitration in Canada: A Guide to Domestic and International Arbitrations (Canada Law Book), a leading arbitration text, and has authored articles and papers on arbitration, class actions, civil procedure, and other topics.

Ludmila has lectured for the Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia and taught Commercial Transactions as an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law. Ludmila is also the former President and Secretary of the Advocates Club, a group of litigators from leading Vancouver firms and has been on the Executive of the Administrative Law subsection-Vancouver of the Canadian Bar Association. She is a member of the Canadian Media Lawyers Association and the Canadian Property Tax Association, and is an associate member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada and the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia.

Ludmila was named by Lexpert, Canada’s most respected legal publication, as one of Canada’s Leading Lawyers Under 40 in 2010. This award honours rising stars in the legal community under the age of 40 as selected by Lexpert’s Advisory Board. She is also recognized in the 2011 Best Lawyers Directory as a leading corporate and commercial litigator.
